On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a warm academic atmosphere filled with collaborative spirit marked the discussion meeting on cooperation between the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) of Universitas Trisakti and the Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center / AI Research and Development Center (BDSRC/AIRDC) of Universitas Bina Nusantara (Binus University). This meeting was part of the activities surrounding the visit of Joint Visiting Professor Dr. Derrick Speaks from Arizona State University in the field of Advanced Materials Research (Semiconductors) and the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology. The meeting took place in the Main Meeting Room of the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Campus A, Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta, with the primary objective of exploring potential collaboration in various fields, particularly for joint research and the enhancement of research and development talent based on Artificial Intelligence.

The event began with an opening session and greetings from both parties. Prof. Dr. Ir. Rianti Dewi Sulamet-Ariobimo, ST, M.Eng, IPM., as Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology, expressed appreciation and emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions to address global challenges in the era of Industry 4.0. She also briefly outlined the profile and achievements of the Faculty of Industrial Technology at Universitas Trisakti.

Next, Prof. Bens Pardamean, B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D, Director of BDSRC/AIRDC at Binus University, presented the profile of AIRDC, particularly in relation to its collaboration with NVIDIA as a manufacturer of high-performance computer platforms in supporting data processing and AI-based system development, server and GPU facilities, as well as the role of BDSRC as an Ambassador for the Deep Learning Institute program.

The discussion session was the highlight of the visit. Various topics were discussed in depth, including:

• Formalization of Cooperation between BDSRC/AIRDC Binus University and FTI Universitas Trisakti
• Joint Research in a Consortium with Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and Oregon Institute of Technology
• Talent Development Program in AI Research and Development
• Utilization of Computing Platform Resources supported by NVIDIA

Both parties expressed optimism that this collaboration will have a significant positive impact on the development of competencies at both institutions, contributing to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
