Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb., shalom, greetings to all of us , om suastiastu, namo budaya, best wishes and healthy greetings to all of us .
Welcome to the Universitas Trisakti Faculty of Industrial Technology website.
The Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Trisakti (FTI-Usakti) was established in 1980 as the answer to the need for reliable experts and the rapidly increasing development of industrial technology in Indonesia.
At the beginning of its establishment, FTI-Usakti had two departments which were established together with Universitas Trisakti in 1965 which are the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering. These two departments were originally under the Faculty of Engineering together with several other engineering departments such as Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering. Currently, FTI-Usakti has 4 Departments with 8 study programs. The departments are the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering, and Department of Informatics. Meanwhile, the 8 study programs consist of Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Informatics Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, and Information Systems Undergraduate Study Program, as well as three Engineering Graduate Study Programs, namely Electrical Engineering Graduate Study Program, Industrial Engineering Graduate Study Program, and Mechanical Engineering Graduate Study Program.
Since the academic year (TA.) of  2014/2015, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering besides their regular program also opened extension program. Meanwhile, Informatics Engineering opened this program in TA. 2018/2019. This program is designed to make it easier for Associate Degree graduates from the vocational school of diploma three study program in the field of industrial technology to continue their studies by switching to the Bachelor program.
All study programs at FTI-Usakti use the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum which is based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) with  active student learning teaching method or Student-Centered Learning (SCL).
The learning process is carried out based on the National Higher Education Standard according to Permendikbud No. 3 published in 2020, with internal quality assurance maintained by the Faculty and University Quality Assurance Board every academic year and external quality assurance by the Higher Education National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT) and Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). The accreditation status of study programs within the scope of FTI-Usakti is as follows:
FTI-Usakti has 2 buildings, namely: E Building and also F and G Building which also called Heri Hertanto Building, which are equipped with excellent facilities, including:Â
TSC is a study room equipped with the latest learning technology based on Artificial Intelligence (Smart Learning) with hardware (Smart Display, VR, 3D printer, Smart Camera, and Ultrawide Band Technology as well as Digital Elite Study Cube) and software including Team-based Learning, Learning Management System, online meeting.
TEC is a means to facilitate study, research, and development of computer-based engineering, on real and actual problems that exist in society, especially in the industrial and business fields. TEC is equipped with 2 special software applications for Computer-Aided for Engineering (CAE), namely Altair and Ansys.
In an effort to participate in equipping and improving digital literacy in the learning process, FTI provides a means to develop methods and substances of learning based on revolution 4.0. E-learning Studio offers a state-of-the-art multimedia recording studio for creating engaging video presentations and innovative online learning content.
Wireless Network Laboratory is a laboratory related to network access, integrity technology, and internetworking which was granted by PT Telkom to Trisakti University and managed by the Faculty of Industrial Technology.
The laboratories owned by FTI-Usakti are equipped with, among others:
This CHTM is one of the metal tensile testing machines owned by FTI-Usakti with a testing force of up to 50-tons so that it can be used not only for practicum and research but also testing for industrial purposes.
FTI-USAKTI has equipped its Production Process Laboratory equipment with the SAMSUNG MCV 5500 machining center, allowing students to gain real knowledge and experience in manufacturing, especially machining.
Radio-frequency anechoic chamber is a place that is able to reduce the reflection of electromagnetic waves, especially radio frequency. FTI USAKTI already has an RF Anechoic chamber to test telecommunication devices, gadgets,, and electronic components. Within the scope of higher education in the Greater Jakarta area, this facility is only owned by Trisakti University and the University of Indonesia.
Apart from hardware, FTI-Usakti also complements its infrastructure with licensed programs, including: AutoCAD 2010 Software, Minitab 16, CATIA V5 R15 Software, Altair/FEKO Software and Ansys R21 Software.
FTI-Usakti has equipped the Production System Laboratory equipment with FMS and robotics as part of the practicum tools.
In facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which is characterized by the increasing role of big data, the internet of things, artificial intelligence, and robotics, computer-based thinking skills are needed to integrate these four things to solve problems. Computational thinking (CT) is the ability and problem-solving skills that have been studied in various fields of science with the addition of the ability to implement problem-solving in the form of computer programs. FTI-Usakti has prepared provisions for its students through an MLF (Faculty Local Content) course called Computational Thinking which is the basis of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 thinking which is a compulsory subject for all FTI students.
FTI-Usakti also prepares students and graduates to become technopreneurs by providing an MLF course called Computing-Based Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation. The Wadhwani Foundation is a non-profit organization with the primary mission of accelerating economic development in developing countries by driving job creation in India and other developing countries through large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skills.
Cooperation owned by FTI-Usakti is cooperation with various educational institutions, government, Â businesses, and industries, both nationally and internationally. The FTI-Usakti cooperation partners along with the activities they have carried out include,Â
cooperation activities include the transfer of Industry 4.0 technology through the latest technology workshops, both offline and online, equipment grants for laboratories, libraries and TSC.
Cooperation activities include providing SNI Corner facilities, Public Lectures on Standardization, Webinars, and Laboratory Standardization Assistance.
The collaborative activities carried out include consulting and assisting the development of intelligent system applications.
Cooperation activities include the provision of laboratory facilities and a place for competency testing in the field of telecommunications and computer networks.
Cooperation activities include studies on the provision of new and renewable energy sources in the Old City area of Jakarta
FTI-Usakti also has a Center for the Study of Sustainable Industrial Technology (PSIB) which has several fields of study, namely Technology and Transportation Studies, Environmentally Friendly Industry and Energy Studies, Technological Diffusion and Innovation Studies, and Digital Technology Utilization Studies. Through the Center for the Study of Sustainable Industrial Technology and the Research & Community Service Council (DRPMF), FTI-Usakti encourages research collaborations, obtaining grants, and the participation of all academics in research and community service.
In terms of affiliate activities, FTI-Usakti has an affiliated institution, namely the Technology Affiliation Institute (LAT). PT. LAT Trisakti is a tax-paying institution, which empowers the competence and resource facilities of FTI Usakti, through commercial professional activities as well as being a business incubator for product and business development or start-ups, both for commercial use and in the context of community service.
This is shortbrief we can convey about FTI-Usakti. We invite you to come and see us directly to see the real condition of FTI-Usakti before you finally put your trust in us. Again, on behalf of the entire academic community of FTI-Usakti, we would like to thank you for the trust that has been given by you so far. We hope that the services we provide will be better and of higher quality. Let’s together help our sons and daughters to face a glorious future era and may Allah SWT bless our intentions.
Thank you,
Wassalamualaikum wr. wb.
